How to create an ad campaign

Create a Google ad campaign in MoeGo Ads — describe your business, set your audience, pick a budget, and let AI handle the rest.

Written by Marina

🌱 MoeGo Ads is launching soon. If you're interested in being one of the first to try it, contact your account manager or MoeGo support to get on the early access list.

Creating an ad campaign in MoeGo Ads takes about 10 minutes. You provide a few details about your business, choose where you want to advertise, and pick a daily budget. AI builds your ad copy, selects your keywords, and optimizes your campaign from there.

If you haven't set up MoeGo Ads yet, start with [Set up MoeGo Ads] first👈

Before you start

📝 Note: You'll need the Access ads permission to create a campaign. If you're a Manager or Staff member without this permission, ask your account Owner to grant it in your Roles settings.

Make sure these are already in place:

  • An active MoeGo Ads subscription

  • Your Google Business Profile is connected

  • A payment method is added for ad spend

You'll also want to have ready:

  • Your business logo (required)

  • A few photos of your business or services (used in your ads)

  • Your business phone number for call tracking

How to create a campaign

In the Ads section, open Advertising and click Create Campaign.

The campaign builder walks you through multiple steps, and you'll review your ad credit and checkout at the end. You can move back and forth between steps before launching — nothing is charged until you complete checkout.

Step 1: Describe your business

The first few screens of the campaign builder collect the basics — your logo, what your business does, and how you want your ad to sound.

To get started, write a short sentence describing your business.

Upload your logo so it appears in your Google ad.

💡 Tip: Specific details work better than generic ones. "A family-owned mobile grooming business serving small to medium-sized dogs across north Austin" will generate stronger ad copy than "A pet grooming business."

AI takes over from here. Based on your description, the system generates your ad headlines, descriptions, and keyword themes automatically.

You'll see a real-time preview of how your ad will look on Google Maps and Search. If something doesn't feel right, you can regenerate anytime — but most businesses find the first version works well.

💡 Tips: You can also upload photos of your business at this stage. Real photos of your shop, your team, or your work tend to perform better than stock images.

Step 2: Set your audience

Your campaign will only show your ad to people inside the area you define here. You can define where your ad reaches.

You have two options:

  • Radius around your location — set a distance in miles from your business address. Default is 5 miles, but you can go up to 100. Most grooming salons and boarding facilities use 5–15 miles.

  • Zip codes — enter specific zip codes if you know exactly where your customers come from.

💡 Tip for mobile groomers: Set the radius to match your actual service zone, not the default 5 miles. Mobile businesses often serve 20–40 mile radii.

A live map shows the area you're targeting so you can see exactly who will see your ad.

📝 Note: Call tracking is enabled by default

If Call Insights is on, calls to your business will be routed through our advertising partner's tracking number for analytics. There's no delay in how calls reach you — they forward instantly.

Step 3: Set your budget and launch

Almost done. Choose your daily ad budget from three tiers:

Tier

Daily budget

Monthly cost

Small

$7/day

~$210/month

Medium (recommended)

$10/day

~$300/month

Large

$15/day

~$450/month

Review your Ad Credit Balance

After selecting your budget, you'll review your Ad Credit Balance. Enter a card for future billing, and click Launch Campaign.

📝 Note: Automatic top-up is strongly recommended. Without it, your campaigns will pause when your credit reaches $0, and you'll need to manually add credits to resume.

📝 Note: Because your first month includes $300 in promotional ad credit, most new subscribers will see "$0 due today" on the checkout page. Your card is saved for future ad spend, which only begins once the credit is used up.

Your campaign goes live shortly after launch. Google needs a short window to review and approve the ad.

What happens next

  • Your campaign goes live within about 30 minutes. Google needs a short window to review and approve the ad.

  • First leads typically arrive in 7–14 days. The AI takes about 30 days to fully optimize your bids and budget allocation, so performance ramps up over the first month.

  • Check your Campaign Details anytime to see clicks, impressions, calls, store visits, and conversions. Performance updates throughout the day.

  • You can pause your campaign anytime without cancelling your MoeGo Ads subscription. Pausing stops ad spend but keeps your settings saved so you can resume later.
