Charge an additional fee when a pet is picked up after hours or dropped off before your business opens. You can set multiple rules with different time thresholds and surcharge amounts to match your business needs.

Go to Settings > Service > Pricing Rules, then select Late pick-up/Early drop-off to create or manage your rules.
Setting Up a Rule
Click + Add new rule and fill in the following:
Rule name: A label for your own reference
Business: Which location this rule applies to
Applicable care types: Choose Boarding, Daycare, or both
Status: Turn the rule on or off
Applicable to: Charge per appointment or per pet
Condition: Late pick-up or early drop-off
Time definition: Based on business hours or custom times
Surcharge and tax: The fee amount and whether tax applies
How the Fee is Calculated (Default Behavior)
When you have multiple late pick-up rules set up, only one rule applies per checkout β the rule matching the latest pick-up time.
Example: You have three rules: fees trigger at 6:30 pm, 6:35 pm, and 6:40 pm. A pet is picked up at 6:45 pm β only the 6:40 pm rule applies. The earlier rules do not add up.
This keeps invoices predictable and prevents accidental overcharging.
Stacking Multiple Rules (Allowlist)
Some businesses need multiple late pick-up rules to apply at the same time β for example, a flat after-hours fee on top of a per-minute fee. This is called stacking, and it is available as an opt-in setting.
Example with stacking enabled:
Rule 1: $12 flat fee for checkout after 12 pm (boarding only)
Rule 2: $1/min for checkout after business hours (5 pm)
A pet picked up at 5:30 pm β $12 + $30 = $42 total late fee.
Note: Stacking is enabled at the company level. If your business has multiple locations, all locations will be enabled with stacking.
